About us

David and Calder met during the first week of high school and instantly began talking politics. Calder is a Democrat, and David is a Republican. However, we both have one important thing in common: We both believe that bipartisanship is the most important principle for America to succeed. If we are unable to reach across the aisle, nothing will get done. We are disappointed with the lack of compromise in today’s government, and feel a need to make a change .

That is why we have founded Youth for Common Sense, a Political Action Committee dedicated to helping America break free from the cycle of performative politics, brinksmanship, and extremism. Our mission is to support candidates who prioritize collaboration and action over partisan posturing and to give these candidates the resources.
